E3 Light Grey Push Dimmer

The Gira E3 switch range merges gently curved contours and soft satin finishes in six pastel shades. This is the lightest of the colours – an almost off-white, neutral and gentle grey.

The central dimmer control is available in glossy or matt white. The single push dimmer units, made by ION in the Netherlands, use the “Trailing Edge” dimming principle and have a maximum load of 200W. The double push dimmer by GIRA is rated as 2 x 60W maximum.

Electrician’s note: the double 2-way push dimmers require a “retractive push-to-make” switch at the other end of the circuit.

What’s in the box?

You will receive a modular rocker switch set, consisting of a switch insert, a rocker cover (or a set of them if you have chosen a 2-gang or 3-gang switch) and a 1-gang frame. (Set includes a bracket to connect frame and insert)

Installation

Because of the modular nature of European wiring accessories, installation is slightly different to fitting the encapsulated (moulded) switches and sockets common in the UK. Have a look at the step-by-step pictures below, or consult the more detailed Gira rocker switch installation instructions.

NB: We used a European round box in the step-by-step pictures, but the procedure is the same for square UK boxes.

Yes, this product covers standard square knockout and drywall boxes comfortably.

How deep does the back box need to be?
This insert is quite deep, it needs at least 40mm. Check the available options below.
