What does an electrician call this?
Where is this used in the home?
13A fused spurs are used for powerful electrical appliances, such as washing machines and dish washers that need to be installed without a plug; they are also used for electrical items that need to be installed on a separate cable from the ring main, for safety and maintenance purposes
Installation
Gira British Standard wiring accessories are straightforward to install. The insert is connected and screwed into the back box, the frame is placed over the insert and the cover is pushed into four slots in the insert, securing the frame. Finally the rocker switch cover (if you are installing a switched version) is pushed onto the insert.
Please refer to our Installation section for more installation advice, manuals and helpful videos.
Dimensions

Does this cover a standard UK back box?
This product covers a standard metal knockout box, but it doesn't cover the edges of plastic "dry-lining" boxes. If you can't fit a metal flush box, we recommend using "flat plate" drywall boxes or European round boxes.
How deep does the back box need to be?
This insert is quite deep, it needs at least 45mm. Check the available options below.

The detail
The gently curved contours of E3 White are not unlike Berker’s R.1 design, but feature a more geometric, rectangular centre and a dividing line on the side of the frame.
